New Kem Edwards Manufacturing Facility
A new facility to design and manufacture bespoke M&E products
Kem Edwards has launched a new manufacturing division to develop and provide bespoke M&E products in addition to its existing stock product line-up. The move is part of a major investment by Kem Edwards with new branches having previously opened in Bristol and Manchester last year.
The new Manufacturing facility aims to get involved in the very early stages of any proposed project and to develop value-added solutions that can save time, cut costs and reduce on-site labour. By manufacturing bespoke products off-site, Kem Edwards additionally helps to produce a quality enhanced product whilst reducing waste and losses on-site. Based at Heathrow the Manufacturing facility incorporates Kem Edwards’ successful pre-fabricated M&E services.
The facility includes CAD design support and products already being manufactured include; assembled trapeze brackets, pipe supports, roof supports and roof walkways, plantroom sub-structures, earth bars, riser support frames and fully fitted distribution boards with cable trunking feeds.
The facility is staffed by a team of existing Kem Edwards’ employees plus new appointment Paul French as Production Manager. He explains the reasons behind the launch; “The construction sector can sometimes take the approach that ‘we’ve always done it this way’ when sometimes a slightly different product design, taking a simplified approach or even manufacturing a sub-assembly off-site, can save time and skills required on-site.”
Kem Edwards Manufacturing provides a controlled manufacturing environment so that products are of a consistent quality and supplied fully palletised to a customers’ scheduled delivery requirements.
